SAD BJP to observe Vishvghat Divas against Amarinder Government on March 2

Chandigarh Feb 9 – The Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP today decided to observe “ Vishvaghat Divas” on March  2  to focus on the massive betrayal by the Congress government with the people of   Punjab. The two parties will hold constituency-wise protests throughout the state to focus attention on   the “unforgivable act of the Chief Minister

Captain Amarinder Singh in breaking the oaths taken by holding sacred Gutka sahib in his hand during the lead up to the assembly elections 2017.

“The Congress  Government in Punjab has put the people fo the state on a ventilator,  stabbing   farmers,  traders,  employees,   Dalits and every other section of Punjabis in the back by going back on all the tall promises made to them during the campaign,” said the SAD president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal and the BJP state unit president Shri Shwet Malik  in joint press conference after a meeting of the state-level Coordination panel of the two parties at the SAD headquarters here this evening.

The two parties decided to  put pressure on the state government to release the arrears for all the installments of DA to the state government employees and not play havouc with their day to day life.

Giving details  of the  decisions taken at the meeting to the media, the two leaders said that the SAD BJP would go into the election campaign  as one alliance unit as the bond between the two was far more than political  arrangement and was in fact a social commitment to preserve peace and communal harmony in the state.  The two parties decided that coordination committees between the two parties will be set up at the district and the constituency levels. These will be addressed by the two presidents.

The Coordination Committee meeting welcomed the landmark decision of the Union Government headed by Shri Narendra Modi to make a historic start with the  direct income support to every farmer to the tune of Rs 6000 per annum. But the committee decided that a joint delegation of the SAD BJP   would approach the Union Finance Minister with a request to significantly enhance this amount. Talking to media persons Mr Badal said that the Modi government has given the country a corruption free government for five years. He said that Mr Modi has taken historic decisions for Punjab and the Sikh community including the decision to open the Kartarpur Sahib corridor.

Both Mr Malik and Mr Badal said that the SAD BJP was all set to sweep the poll in Punjab, winning all 13 setas plus the one seat in Chandigarh.
