Chandigarh, July 27: Admissions in government and private industrial training institutes in the state are on-line. Admission in all government and private industrial training institutes is being done online and according to the reservation policy set by the government and no institute can refuse admission on available seats as per the reservations policy.
Disclosing this here today, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi Technical Education Minister Punjab said that only two counselling for admissions in ITI’s have taken place and the third counselling is still going on. He said that there are still 20 days left for admissions. There are 25837 seats in government institutions and 50686 seats in private institutions. He said that instructions for admissions have already been issued for the year 2017-18 in the government and private industrial training institutes under the reservation policy.
The Technical Education Minister further said that according to the decision taken by the government, fee reimbursement of SC students to the private organisations is to be given equivalent to the fees set by the government organizations. Apart from this, he said that for the year 2014-15, reimbursement under Post-matric scholarship scheme had already been given by the Welfare Department. He further said that as per information received from the Welfare Department due to dispute in fee structure writ petitions filed in the Hon’ble High Court regarding the rate of admission fee in ITIs between government and Private institutions, no payment have been made for the ITIs.
Mr. Channi further said that the Punjab government’s top priority is to impart quality technical education to the youth of the state. He said that no organisation would be allowed to run technical education institutions not fulfilling set standards by the centre & state government.
The Technical Education Minister further said that inspection of government & private institutions is done as per the set guidelines by the DGET. He also informed that the reports of the inspection are sent to the Government of India along with the recommendations for the next course of action.
