One Week Training Programme on “Recent Advancements in Materials and Manufacturing” begins in GZSCCET

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) sponsored one-week Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Recent Advancements in Materials and Manufacturing” began here on Monday.
The programme in online mode is being organised by the department of Mechanical Engineering, Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET) MRSPTU. More than 100 participants from the different institutions of the country joined the session.
Dr. Satya Parkash, Ex-Emeritus Professor IIT Roorkee, was the Chief Guest of the Inaugural session. He explained the various areas where advanced materials and manufacturing techniques can be used in Industry.
Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu, Vice Chancellor, MRSPTU Bathinda and Guest of Honour discussed on the topic how to protect surface degradation with protective coatings. Dr. Ravi Kant from IIT Ropar explained the technology involved in Laser Manufacturing in aptly framed talk.
Dr. Balwinder Singh, Professor, Mechanical Engineering delivered a vote of thanks to the guests, participants and AICTE for sponsoring this event. Prof. Yadwinderpal Sharma and Dr. Anil Jindal are the coordinators of this programme.
During the week-long programme, Er. Bavneet Brar, Crash Analyst from Michigan USA, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu Vice Chancellor MRSPTU, Bathinda, Dr. Inderdeep Singh from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, Dr. Sandeep Jindal, Guru Jambheswar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, Dr. Kanwarpreet Singh from Punjabi University, Patiala, Dr. Rutash Mittal MIMIT, Malout, Dr. R.S. Walia Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, Dr. Gajanand Gupta VIT, Chennai and the faculty from GZSCCET Bathinda would be the resource persons during this STTP and would discuss various topics of their expertise. The students of the Mechanical Engineering department would also get the benefit interacting with such great academicians and professionals.
