Patiala 29 July

Movies are a great source of entertainment as well as education. They create a visual effect on the minds of the learners. Children learn to speak and adopt mannerisms of the actors and try to inculcate them in their lives. Keeping the importance of movies in educating students about languages and values, an Online Movie Day was organised by Police DAV Public School Patiala . Students of  classes Nursery to UKG

were shown an English movie” The Rainbow Fish” depicting the value of togetherness and social harmony. Children were thrilled to watch the movie. Students of classes 1&2 were shown the fairytale movie of “Hansel and Gretel” depicting the love of brother and sister and their determination to face odd circumstances boldly. Students were
tongue tied by the performances of the characters in it. They could relate to them easily. Children of classes 3 to 8 were shown 2 movies at different time slots. The English movie was “The little princess” and Hindi movie was “Bahadur Nevala”. Students were glued to their screens and watched the movies enthusiastically. They thanked their teachers for giving them these  golden moments to see movies with their classmates along with them.
On the occasion the school principal Ms Meena Thapar applauded the efforts of the school staff for taking extra efforts to guide students through movies. She further added that students can learn a lot from good movies and warned them of watching television for long time. She encouraged them to practice more to improve their language skills and inculcate good values from everything they see or read. She also thanked the parents for their continuous support to make the day a success.

It is credibility and independence that are dear to us and epitomise our core values. We will question what is wrong and espouse what we feel is the right cause, at the same time fully conscious that both are relative terms but we will go by the interpretations are rooted in the collective consciousness of the people. At the same time, we will not stake any claim to be moralists as that can the most difficult test to pass and we admit it.
