Majithia urges PM to take decisive action against Pak again
Amritsar, May 4 – Former minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) general secretary Bikram Singh Majithia today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take decisive action against Pakistan for beheading and mutilating the bodies of two Indian army soldiers, including Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh, in the Poonch sector recently.
Addressing a public meeting at Pakharpura village in Majitha constituency, Mr Majithia said just like the surgical strike against Pak terror camps had had a deterrent effect on terrorist activities, decisive action against Pak army operatives who had indulged in the Poonch barbarity was also needed.
The SAD leader also spoke about the wave of repression being unleashed by Congress activists in Punjab. He said immediately after the assembly election Congress activists supporting Sukhjinder Singh had tried to browbeat councillors in Majithia to resign from their posts and had even attacked the residence of a Dalit lady councillor. He said following this a wave of attacks had started across Punjab with the latest one occurring in Ferozepur two days back when two Akali workers were killed.
Urging the SAD rank and file to unite and fight out injustice, Mr Majithia warned the civil and police machinery not to become a party in the vendetta drive started by the Congress against Akali workers. “We will launch prosecution proceedings against all officers who are fail to perform their duties in an impartial manner”, he added.
