I dare majithia to show even a single development centric work done in Dera Baba Nanak during decade long SAD rule: Randhawa
Chandigarh, September 20: The senior Congress leader and Cabinet Minister S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has dared former minister Bikram Singh Majithia to list even a single development centric work done during the tenure of the SAD Government for the Dera Baba Nanak constituency. He said this in response to the comments made regarding the Dera Baba Nanak visit of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
In a communique issued from the party headquarters, S. Randhawa said that the cabinet meeting was scheduled for the Dera Baba Nanak with a view to make the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, memorable ones and to take stock of the beautification and development works being carried out in the city. There has been widespread happiness in the public over this initiative.
Taking the SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia to task, the Congress leader said that the SAD leader should list a single development work done at Dera Baba Nanak by the Akalis instead of politicizing the Prakash Purb celebrations.
S. Randhawa also said that on the other side, Captain Amarinder Singh has sanctioned Rs. 75.23 Crore for widening and strengthening of the roads at Dera Baba Nanak and Rs. 3.70 Crore for heritage and food street. The State Government has even formed Dera Baba Nanak Development Authority for the overall development of of the town and the Chief Minister takes personal interest in the matter by chairing the meetings. The Congress Government brought Kalanaur under the tourism circuit and decided to set up a Degree college and sugarcane research center in the historic town.
S. Randhawa also said that Majithia should look at his party’s wrongdoings before pointing finger at others. He further added that those pasting pictures of the then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on the 108 ambulances run under the Union Government schemes should be ashamed of themselves. He also said that the people of the state were sick of the blatant white lies mouthed by Sukhbir Singh Badal who was hallucinating about having first class road infrastructure whereas everybody knew that the National Highways are constructed by the Union Government. The then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh gifted the Bathinda refinery to Punjab which the Badal father son duo tried to showcase as their own achievement.
Attacking further, S. Randhawa said that the people of the state have now totally rejected the akalis who are trying every trick up their sleeve to ensure their survival. The Sikh Qaum would never forgive so called panthic Akalis for abandoning the Sikh interests.
The Congress leader thanked the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for convening the cabinet meeting first at Sultanpur Lodhi and now Dera Baba Nanak thus showing his commitment towards the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations. Now, the next cabinet meeting would be held at Batala.
