Heat wave continues in Haryana, Punjab
Chandigarh, May 15 (IANS) With maximum temperatures registering between 41.5 and 44.6 degrees Celsius at most places on Monday, heat wave conditions prevailed in the plains of Haryana and Punjab.
In Haryana, Hisar town sizzled at 44.6 degrees while Karnal town saw a high of 43 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperatures at most places were up to five degrees above normal, Met officials said.
Heat wave conditions prevailed over most parts of Haryana and Punjab.
Patiala city was hot in Punjab with the mercury rising to 43.1 degrees Celsius.
Ludhiana and Amritsar recorded highs of 42.8 and 41 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Chandigarh recorded the maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees while Ambala in Haryana saw a high of 42.7 degrees Celsius.
Met department officials said heat wave conditions would prevail over the region in the coming days.
