Get closure report of CBI rejected by Union Cabinet: Randhawa challenges Sukhbir
(Failing this, Recall Harsimrat Kaur Badal from Union Cabinet)
Chandigarh, July 17:
“The President, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Sukhbir Singh Badal should stop the drama of crying hoarse over the closure report filed by the CBI in the incident pertaining to the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at Bargari as it was during the tenure of the SAD-BJP regime that the sacrilege incident took place.” These views were expressed here today by the Cabinet Minister, Punjab, and Senior Congress leader S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa in a press communiqué.
Reacting to the decision taken in the core committee meeting of the SAD in which the closure report was rejected, S. Randhawa while castigating the SAD President said that if the latter cared so much about the Sikh interests as he loudly professes at every platform then he should get the closure report rejected by the Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal in the meeting of the Union Cabinet instead of the SAD core committee. If the Union Cabinet refuses to reject the closure report then Harsimrat Kaur Badal must immediately tender her resignation and show solidarity with the panth.
Taking the attack right into the SAD ranks, S. Randhawa there is no use meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the issue as the latter would not take a decision inimical to the agency which is directly under the command of the Union Government especially his ministry. The congress leader also described the decision of the core committee of SAD to explore all legal options to take the case to its logical conclusion as a mere farce to befool the public as it wants to present itself as the sole proprietor of the Sikh interests whereas the stark truth is that the interests of the Sikh community have been terribly harmed during the so called Panthic tenure of SAD which is amply exhibited by the sacrilege incident at Bargari as well as the Behbal Kalan firing which was in fact a massacre perpetrated by the akalis. So, now with what moral force are they trying to showcase themselves as the protectors of Sikh interests, questioned S. Randhawa.
Lashing out at the SAD for always discarding the issues and interests of Punjab especially the Sikh community, S. Randhawa said that akalis have always been clinging to the BJP which has no love lost for Punjab and has never ever cared for the State. The Congress also added that the people of Punjab are sensible enough as they have now seen the devious double crossing game that the SAD is playing on them and soon the akalis would pay for their misdeeds.
