Foot over bridge near CST railway station collapses; 5 dead
Mumbai: A foot over bridge near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) railway station collapsed on Thursday evening.
As per the latest report, five people died in the bridge collapse.
According to reports, 10-12 persons feared to be trapped under the debris. An NDRF team moved from Andheri center. One team from Regional Response Center (RRC) Mumbai rushed to the spot. However, 29 injuries were reported in the incident. All injured were shifted to the hospital immediately.
Mumbai Police tweeted in this regard and advised commuters to use alternate routes as the traffic near that area got affected.
“Foot over bridge connecting CST platform 1 north end with B T Lane near Times of India building has collapsed. Injured persons are being shifted to hospitals. Traffic affected. Commuters to use alternate routes. Senior officers are on spot,” read the tweet by Mumbai police.
