Faridkot: Gangster’s body found near Sadhwan village

Faridkot: The district police on Wednesday recovered the body of a 24-year-old man from fields near Sadhwan village on the Faridkot-Kotkapura road. The deceased is believed to be notorious gangster involved in over 12 criminal cases, including two murders and seven attempts of murder, in Muktsar, Bathinda and Faridkot districts.

The police have identified the deceased as Rajwinder Singh alias Ghali. The body bore many injury marks and it is believed that he has been hit with a sharp-edged weapon on his head.

The police have taken the body to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot, and the family of Ghali has been called to identify the deceased, said Manjit Singh Dhesi, SSP.

Ghali had entered the world of crime in 2011, when he was just 16. On August 20 this year, the police had arrested him in a case and recovered some firearms from him. He had got bail in this case some days back, said sources.

In May 2013, Ghali was awarded seven-year jail in a case where a minor girl was kidnapped by a gang. Ghali was one of accomplices of Nishan Singh, prime accused in the kidnapping and rape case. He had remained a proclaimed offender in all these cases.
