DSGMC TAKES SERIOUS NOTICE OF ATTACK ON SIKHS IN KAITHAL VILLAGE, SEEKS IMMEDIATE ARREST OF GUILTY

New Delhi, March 23 : The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has taken serious notice of an incident occurred in village Badsui in Kaithal district of Haryana where one person has been killed and 15 others were injured in a dispute over Gurudwara Sahib  and it has urged the Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar to issue orders for immediate arrest of the guilty in the case.

          In a statement released here today, the DSGMC President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that it is shocking to learn that member of the Sikh community were targeted by a group of persons in a dispute over two shrines. He said that these people used weapons in their attack resulting in death of one Shamsher Singh (50) and 15 others were also injured in the attack.  He said that it is strange that Sikhs are being targeted in their own country for following their religious belief though this has been guaranteed in the Constitution.

          He said that they have been informed that though a case  against a main perpetuator identified as Om Prakash of the same village and others under Section 148 (Rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), and 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)  has registered but police has yet not formally arrested anyone in the case. He urged the Chief Minister of the state Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar to issue orders for immediate arrest of the guilty in the case.

          He said that being a representative body of the Sikh in the National Capital the DSGMC was duty bound to protect the members of the Sikh community in every part of the Country as well world wide. He said that the Sikh body will send its team to the village Badsui to ascertain the true facts in the case and pursue the legal case against those responsible for attack on the members of the Sikh community. He said that the DSGMC will provide every help which the members of the community will ask for.
