DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION OBSERVES TWO-MINUTES OF SILENCE IN RESPECT OF FREEDOM FIGHTERS

ADC EXHORTS PEOPLE TO MAKE SINCERE EFFORTS TO FULFILL THE ASPIRATIONS OF FREEDOM FIGHTERS

Jalandhar, January 30-

The district administration on Saturday observed two-minutes of silence in the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country.

A two-minute silence was observed at 11.00 am in the district administrative complex.

The civil, police officials and employees from various departments paid homage to the freedom fighters and martyrs.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh along with other officials paid their rich tribute to the freedom fighters and Mahatma Gandhi, father of the nation. It was on Jan 30, 1948, when Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated.

Addressing the gathering, ADC said that we should always remember the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and exhorted the people to play a proactive role in fulfilling their aspirations.

He said that everyone should perform his duty sincerely which will be a real tribute to our freedom fighters.  

He said that countrymen enjoy the fruits of independence because of martyrs who were got martyrdom in the freedom struggle and also called upon the people to salute the martyrs for their supreme sacrifice and courage.

On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Hardeep. Singh, Nayab Tehsildar Vijay Kumar

Superintendent Anil Kumar Kala, and employees of various branches were present.
