DC DIRECTS HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO SHIFT ALL SUSPECTED PATIENTS TO CIVIL HOSPITAL

JALANDHAR, MARCH 25- The Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Wednesday directed the health department to ensure the shifting of the suspected patients of Coronavirus to Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Civil hospital immediately to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. 

Presiding over a meeting with the health department, Sharma said that the at presently, there are 21 patients at the civil hospital and five who are at Phillaur Civil hospital, will be shifted to the Jalandhar Civil Hospital. 

He said that the Civil Hospital which is 550- bedded facility, has been turned into as Isolation Centre in Jalandhar as it has all required infrastructure and medical facilities and staff. 

He said that SMO Dr Kashmiri Lal and his team has already been performing excellently for the treatment of the suspected patients. 

Mr Sharma told that the medical teams have already been pumped in to conduct house to house survey for identification of patients, if any, of the fatal virus. 

He said that the Police was also identifying the people with whom these three people had met in last couple of days. 

Mr Sharma said that this was the need of hour to ensure that the spread of the Coronavirus was checked.

 Meanwhile, he said that this flu could be checked with the active public support also as precaution was only way to stay inside the home.
