CONGRESS TRYING TO THREATEN WITNESS OF 1984 SIKH GENOCIDE CASES BY PRESENTING TYTLERS IN ITS FUNCTIONS : SIRSA
New Delhi, January 16 : The Shiromani Akali MLA and National Spokesman of the party Mr Manjinder Singh Sirsa today said that the Congress made 1984 anti-Sikh riots accused Jagdish Tytler sit in the front row at an event where Sheila Dikshit took over as its Delhi unit president only to threaten witness of the 1984 sikh genocide cases and to stop them from deposing against the accused in the cases.
In a statement issued here today, Mr. Sirsa said that after the conviction of Sajjan Kumar Congress has gone berserk and in desperation of saving skin of its leaders whom it had deputed to carry out 1984 sikh carnage, it is going all out to show its power to the families of victims and witnesses it is now prominently showing these guilty in its party functions. He said that the Congress is “afraid as it is aware that Tytler and Kamal Nath would also be jailed” in cases related to the anti-Sikh riots.
Mr. Sirsa said that Jagdish Tytler is one of the main accused Congress leaders who owing to his closeness with Gandhi family ditched judicial course of action in context of his alleged involvement in 1984 Sikh Genocide cases. He said that the fact is that the Nanavati Commission report which was tabled in Parliament, clearly pointed a finger at Jagdish Tytler, Sajjan Kumar and HKL Bhagat. He played his Gandhi Family card then and got himself a clean chit from CBI. Despite being named in enquiries and commissions, Tytler has enjoyed politics patronage from Congress and even remained a minister in the Congress-led UPA government.
Adding insult to the injury is the self-confession by Tytler himself in an interview given last year where he shared on National TV that he had escorted Rajiv Gandhi (breaking all protocols) on the night of genocide days and shown him the bodies of innocent Sikhs killed by Congress goons. All this was said by him on TV – with the intention to drop a hint to the Gandhi family that if i am caught, your turn will come next. So, Gandhi Family has been protecting him and even showing their support for him by keeping him at the forefront.
Today, Congress made Jagdish Tytler sit in the front row at an event where Sheila Dikshit took over as its Delhi unit president to “intimidate” witnesses in related cases.
Mr. Sirsa said that the message is clear – Congress reflects its support to Tytler and gives a signal to witnesses of 1984 Sikh genocide cases to back off. Congress is frustrated after Sajjan Kumar’s conviction and resorting to such petty ways to scare the witnesses.
Giving people like Tytler such importance is also an insult to the judiciary which has clearly spoken against the “political patronage “ protecting the culprits of genocide for 34 years, as observed by the High Court in recent Sajjan Kumar verdict also.
The SAD Spokesman reiterated that come what may the SAD , the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee (SGPC) are committed to help the victims and take these cases to their logical end and will ensure that Tytler and all other guilty are put behind bars at the earliest.
