Chandigarh, March 1 – The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh had sprinkled salt on the wounds of Punjabis by appointing ‘jumlabaz’ Prashant Kishore as his Principal Advisor, saying it is clear that the Congress party is banking on manufacturing a new set of lies in its bid to befool the people yet again.
Stating that the chief minister should have taken out a minute to think about the 1,500 farmers who had committed suicide believing the ‘jumla’ of complete loan waiver of Prashant Kishore which he sold farmers by taking a vow in the name of the holy Gutka Sahib and the Dasam Pitah, former minister Bikram Singh Majithia said Capt Amarinder Singh had taken politics to a new low with this announcement. “It is even bitterer that the chief minister is making merry with the announcement by stating that he was looking forward to working together with Kishore for the betterment of the people of Punjab”.
Asking the chief minister to explain which betterment he was talking about, Majithia asked the chief minister if he had ever gone to the houses of the scheduled caste and under privileged sections of society whom he had befooled with Kishore’s help promising social welfare outlays like old age pension, shagun scheme and aata- daal scheme would be enlarged. “Would you and your new Principal Advisor have the guts to visit the houses of youth who were promised ghar ghar naukari and an unemployment allowance? It is unthinkable that after making these people pass through hell you are getting ready in your farm house to fabricate more new fairy tale schemes which you will never implement”.
Asserting that people had seen through both the chief minister and Prashant Kishore, the Akali leader said “the jumlabaaz duo should not try to insult the intelligence of the people. Punjabis have had enough of their stunts and will not fall for their deceitful tricks again”. Mr Majithia also advised Kishore to take his fake cooked up interactions like ‘Chai pe Charcha’ and ‘Coffee with Captain’ elsewhere, saying Punjabis wanted a ‘hisab’ of the promises made by him at Capt Amarinder Singh’s instance in 2012. “This is what you will face on the ground – Punjab Mange Hisab”, he told the duo while asking them to be ready to face the wrath of the people.
