Channi invites art & literature lovers from world over to be part of 550th Parkash Purb celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji
Tourism & Cultural Affairs Minister holds meeting with Chairman Punjab Kala Parishad
Chandigarh, June 14:
The Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister, Punjab, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi has today extended an invitation to the art and literature lovers world over to be a part of the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations being organized by the Punjab Government. This was disclosed by the Minister in a press communique after a meeting with the Chairman of the Punjab Kala Parishad Dr. Surjit Patar and Secretary General Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal.
On the occasion, Dr. Patar apprised the minister that the parishad has chalked out year long programmes regarding the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations which are being held in various parts of the State. The minister while appreciating the programmes asked Dr. Patar to expand the area of the programmes and chalk out a further comprehensive itinerary under which art and literature lovers from country and abroad would be able to take part in the Parkash Purb celebrations to be held in November this year.
Mr. Channi added that the Punjab Kala Parishad is organizing Seminars, Declamation contests as well as Plays at many places. He further said that in order to ensure the reach of the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to the youth of today’s era, light and sound shows and laser shows should also be organized. He also reiterated that these are historical moments and the department would leave no stone unturned to make them memorable.
Earlier, Dr. Surjit Patar and Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal congratulated Mr. Channi on assuming charge as the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister.
