CHANDIGARH, FEBRUARY 12: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday expressed grief over the demise of ex-MLA Raj Kumar Gupta (85), who breathed his last on Tuesday night after a brief illness.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister described Raj Kumar Gupta as a gentleman politician and leader of the masses, who worked tirelessly for the overall development of his constituency from Jalandhar Central.

Captain Amarinder Singh further said that Gupta, a veteran Congress leader, would always be remembered by one and all for his selfless service and strong connect with the local residents at the grassroots level.

Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, relatives and friends, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give courage to them to bear this irreparable loss and peace to the departed soul.
