CAPT AMARINDER DIRECTS ALL DEPUTY COMMISSIONERS TO REMAIN ALERT IN VIEW OF HEAVY RAINFALL FORECAST IN NEXT 48-72 HOURS

CHANDIGARH, AUGUST 16: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday directed all the Deputy Commissioners to remain alert and be ready to tackle any unforeseen exigency in view of heavy rainfall in next 48 to 72 hours as reported by Indian Meteorological Department.

Disclosing this here today a Spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s OffIce said that Captain Amarinder Singh asked all the DCs to be vigilant and keep a close tab on the situation to avert any untoward situation amid forecast reports of heavy rainfall in next 2 to 3 days

The Chief Minister also instructed all District heads to make elaborate arrangements for the security and safety of people, as well as their property and livestock in case any emergency.

The Chief Minister ordered  all the field officers of Revenue, Drainage, Health,  Food and Animal Husbandry Departments to be fully prepared to cope up any eventuality arising out of heavy rains besides chalking our detailed action plan for relief and rehabilitation works as and when required. Captain Amarinder also asked the officers not to leave their headquarters in view of the forecast of heavy downpour in the state.
