2. A camp is going on at the CHB premises in Sector-9D w.e.f. 26.10.2020 for the occupants of Pre-Fab Shelters. The timings of the camp are 09.00 am to 05.00 pm. During first two days, total 597 applicants attended the camp to complete the documentation for the rental flat under the scheme. Entry of applicant is allowed inside the CHB premises in the batches of about 50 persons every hour for which schedule has been displaced at the site of Pre-Fab Shelters and at the CHB premises. The camp will continue till Thursday i.e. 29th October and remaining applicants may be called in the first week of November.

3. Shri Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator –cum- Chairman, Chandigarh Housing Board visited the Camp. He interacted with the applicants and appreciated compliance of COVID related protocols by them. He instructed the officers to guide the applicants properly and provide them maximum possible assistance in completion of required formalities. He also appreciated the officers for doing the great job of providing accommodation to the families of Economic Weaker Section.

4. Computerized draw for allotment on rental basis will be made and after handing over of possession of flats, the Pre-Fab shelter will be demolished simultaneously. The result of the draw will be pasted at the particular group of Pre-Fab shelter at least three days before the actual shifting, so that the occupants have sufficient time for packing of their belongings. Arrangements are also being made at Maloya-I for handing over possession of the flats immediately after Diwali third week of November. The water and electricity connections will be released on the day of possession itself.

5. Some of the occupants of Pre-Fab Shelters are having certain doubts about their pending claims under the Chandigarh Small Flats Scheme-2006. It is clarified to the residents of Pre-fab shelters in Sector 52 & 56 that any application under the Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs) Scheme will not be a bar or prejudice to their claim, if any, under the Chandigarh Small Flats Scheme-2006. In case of any allotment under the Chandigarh Small Flats Scheme-2006, the present rental agreement will be accordingly modified. Hence all such residents of Pre-Fab Shelters, whose name appears in the list available on the website of CHB, may apply under ARHC Scheme because it will not affect their pending claims under the Chandigarh Small Flats Scheme-2006.  This way they will have an opportunity of dignified living in a EWS flat having two rooms, Kitchen Space, bathroom, WC and Balcony.
