Chandigarh, November 18, 2020: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has sharply reacted to the BJP national president J.P. Nadda’s claim that the party (BJP) would contest all the seats in Punjab, saying it would lose its security deposits on all the seats in the 2022 battle of ballot.

Reacting to the Nadda’s proposed three-day visit to Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party said that the anti-farmer and anti-people BJP should stop dreaming of gaining power in Punjab by adopting its nefarious tactics, saying that the people of Punjab had decided to teach the BJP a lesson.

Addressing reporters at the party headquarters in Chandigarh on Wednesday, Aam Aadmi Party Barnala MLA and state Youth Wing President Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and Co-President Anmol Gagan Mann said “BJP may open 117 party offices in Punjab, they would meet their waterloo in the decisive battle as the people have made up their minds”.

Meet Hayer said that the BJP and SAD had been virtually wiped out of the state due to back-to-back betrayals on farmers by the leaders, saying the people won’t allow them to enter Punjab if they failed to fulfil the promises made to the people and finding a lasting solution to the Punjab farmers battling for their rights .

Hayer said that BJP leaders were indulging themselves in making derogatory remarks against the farmers of Punjab who were fighting for their rights. Reacting to BJP leader Tarun Chugh’s recent remark on Punjab farmers, the AAP leader said that he had insulted not only farmers but the entire Punjabis across the country, saying they would have to pay a heavy price their uncouth behaviour.

He said the BJP indulging in communal politics, be it Delhi, Bihar or any other part of the country, won’t be able to cut much ice in the state, as Punjab, the land of Gurus, saints and seers, where people of diverse faiths happily lived. Hayer said that the Modi government had betrayed not only the farmers but all sections of people who were suffering hugely, as a result of which, the country’s traders and small time shopkeepers were on the verge of extinction.

Lashing out at the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, Hayer said that he too was a partner in Modi’s anti-farmer and anti-people decisions, adding that he was the one who pledged to the people of Punjab in the presence of Sri Gutka Sahib to eradicate the menace of drugs, to provide employment in very household, but nothing had come out of the narrative. He added that the people of Punjab now are keen on having a government like the one, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi which would provide education, health and other facilities like in Delhi.

State youth wing co-president Anmol Gagan Mann on the occasion said that Aam Aadmi Party had no issues with the BJP national presidents Nadda’s three day visit to Punjab, asking him he should bring Badal and Captain along with him to enable then to see for themselves the pitiable plight of Punjab and its people who were on the receiving end.

She said that earlier due to the wrong policies of the SAD-BJP and now the Congress government, the youth of Punjab was forced to leave Punjab and move to other countries in search of employment. He said the deadly policies of the state and central governments the plight of the farmers in the state had gone from bad to worse and were being forced to commit suicide, day in and day out for various reasons.

Calling upon the people of Punjab at large, Mann said they should come together and fight against the anti-people dispensation. She added that they should throw the traditional parties and elect an honest government like the one in Delhi to restore the dignity of Punjab and make it prosperous again.
