Acting on a directive from Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Punjab Police has set up a Special Investigative Team (SIT) under Inspector General (Crime) to probe the suspected murder of senior journalist KJ Singh and his mother.
Singh and his mother were found dead in their Mohali home and the police suspect they were killed for some unknown motive. The IG (Crime), under whom the SIT will function, has been asked to ensure that all leads are probed and the culprits are identified and nabbed at the earliest.
According to an official spokesperson, the Chief Minister has also directed the police to beef up security in the area and take steps to ensure the safety and security of the ordinary citizens of the state. Captain Amarinder reiterated his commitment to ensuring that law and order is maintained in Punjab at all costs.
