AAP wants deferment of loan liabilities of all categories for six months with complete waiver on interest

Chandigarh, March 24: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,  has urged the union government to issue directions through the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), to all  national, public sector, regional, agricultural and other private banks across the country to defer loans liability of each category at least for the next 6 months (September 30, 2020) offering 100% waiver on interest to be incurred during the period amid Covid – 19 scare.

The letter, which was released to media from party headquarters in Chandigarh on Tuesday, party’s Member of Parliament from Sangrur and state unit President Bhagwant Mann said the entire country stood rock-solid behind him (Mr Modi) for the initiatives and preventive measures being taken by the union government under his watch as also by state governments to fight the formidable global challenge thrown up by the Novel Corona-Virus (Cavid-19).

Bhagwant Mann said that in this hour of global crisis, when everyone was doing his/her bit in fighting the formidable battle, heart and soul, those at the helms should try to keep the morale of each and every citizen of the country high.

The AAP leader, in the letter, has sought intervention of the union government to direct, through the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all the national, public sector, regional, agricultural and other private banks across the country to defer loans liability of each category of citizens covered under the housing, commercial, vehicle, agricultural, business or other welfare schemes at least for the next 6 months with full waiver, enabling them to carry forward heir blitzkrieg against the killer Covid-19.

Mann hoped the government would initiate necessary steps in this regard so that the people the country continued their battle against the looming epidemic and establish a decisive victory over it.
